Electric cars are quite long ceased to be exotic, and gradually penetrate into the consumer market. One of the most famous models among electric cars, of course, is the Tesla Model S. But very soon, the brainchild of Elon musk could have a serious competitor in the face of the new electric car from car giant BMW.
“On the same playing field” with the Tesla Model S already tried many. This Nissan with its Leaf, and the Chevrolet Bolt, and a galaxy of start-UPS from the developers of lower rank. But they all have a body type that is different from the classic four-door sedan. New car from BMW is going to make it in this class. At the moment already prepared a concept for the future competitor to the Model S. It was called i Vision Dynamics.
The company’s management has not yet announced the final name of its new electric vehicle, but there is speculation that the car will receive name BMW i5.
On the exact date of production of cars in serial production is not yet known, but the representatives of the company BMW claim that the new model will be part of an extensive upgrade planned for 2025. Within this update will be provided 25 electric cars, 12 of which will be fully electric, and the rest will be a hybrid car.
As regards the technical characteristics, trip distance i the BMW Vision Dynamics without recharging the battery is 600 kilometers, the maximum speed will be limited to 200 kilometers per hour and accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour BMW creation can for 4 seconds. If we talk about the design i Vision Dynamics, then there is clearly shows the influence of Tesla. Smooth, but aggressive lines of the body combined with a long wheelbase attract the eye, although such a decision would have to taste not all. As told the Vice-President BMW Group Design Adrian van Hooydonk,
“Our BMW i3 and BMW i8 are practical urban and sport variants of electric cars, while BMW i Vision Dynamics will occupy an intermediate niche and will combine all the basic features of BMW cars — high dynamics, elegance and comfort”.
