Meteorological probes, beacons that track the movement of animals, and other important and necessary device to bring mankind a huge favor by allowing you to explore the world, but over time these devices become useless, turning from useful gadgets in the trash, polluting our already not so clean planet. One solution to the problem may be biodegradable electronics, over which now operates an international group of American and Chinese scientists.
They have been able to produce more of the electronic devices begin to decompose upon contact with air humidity. Transistors, capacitors, and even the motherboard work properly, but as soon as the humidity reaches a critical level for them, they immediately start to decompose, but only for four days almost entirely disappear, — reports the news Agency Xinhua.
Electronic components coated with a special polymer that reacts to humid air — it begins to decompose in the first place, then the electronic components are beginning to rust and almost completely disappear in 36 hours. Four days later, they are hardly noticeable pieces. The main feature of the development is the ability to adjust the lifetime of the devices by changing the composition responsive to the humidity of the polymer.
According to the authors, such devices can be used not only to create a sustainable scientific instruments, but also for the production of medical or spy equipment.
