The parliament of the Spanish region of Catalonia on Wednesday agreed to hold a referendum on independence from Spain.
The Spanish government was already to the highest judges of the land stepped on the referendum, on 1 October must be held.
Earlier referendum
Separatist politicians, organized three years ago an unofficial referendum on independence. But only their supporters showed up. Approximately 80 percent of the voters voted then for separation from Spain, but only 2.3 million of the targeted 5.4 million persons entitled to vote took a vote.
