Macron and Merkel: EU must react

AMSTERDAM –

Not only Donald Trump has the test with a hydrogen bomb, and North Korea condemned, but also Angela Merkel and Emmanuel Macron in a joint statement. The EU must take steps, say the two.

Merkel and Macron called on Sunday and agreed: North Korea has international law been violated, and the international community must vigorously respond now. “This provocation of the ruler of North Korea has a new dimension is reached,” according to the German government.

The United Kingdom also condemned the action. “There is no doubt that this is a new provocation. It is reckless,” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Boris Johnson, against Sky News.

Previously condemned the American president Donald Trump the action. He called North Korea in three tweets under the more “hostile and dangerous.” Even China, normally an ally, is furious. This is evident from a comment by president Xi Jinping.

Absolutely devastating

Sunday it was announced that North Korea is now really a devastating h-bomb, and which is said to be able to be mounted on an intercontinental ballistic missile. Previously claimed the regime that already, but then called all the experts, the existence of the bomb is unlikely.

An average hydrogen bomb is about five hundred times as strong as the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. “Such a bomb has a destructive power, really unprecedented,” says Risk van der meer of the Clingendael Institute.
