Australian scientists have found a way to get rid of peanut Allergy

Australian researchers seem to have discovered a way to cure children of peanut Allergy. As reported by the Guardian, testing of new immunotherapy conducted with the participation of a group of children about four years ago, with very positive results. Now these kids can eat peanuts and include other products in their diet.

“These children could eat peanuts without any problems and without compliance with any special dietary doses for the past several years after ended treatment”, says Professor Mimi Tang, head of research group generated a new kind of therapy.

Tang has created a new treatment method, called PPOIT that combines the use of probiotics and oral immunotherapy. Instead of avoiding the allergen, the method allows to reprogram the immune system, and ultimately to develop the body’s immune triggers allergic reactions. From the words Tanga, the combination of a probiotic and immunotherapy gives the body a boost to fight from allergic reaction.

After the initial phase of treatment, which was carried out in 2013 and had a repeat test, which showed that the body more than 82 percent of the children developed an immunity to peanuts. Four years later, 70 per cent of children from this group passed another test, which confirmed that the treatment actually has long-term effects.

“We came up with the children who had a peanut Allergy and had to be careful to avoid eating peanuts in their diet and constantly worry about it. By the end of treatment and even after four years, the majority of these children who have completed our probiotic therapy, can now live like ordinary children, have never had peanut allergies,” says Tang.

Peanut Allergy is one of the most popular in the world. The reaction can range from mild, such as rash or redness of the skin to very serious, even fatal. The most common Allergy seen in children. Statistics shows that every fifth child may be vulnerable, but most of its just “outgrow”.

If the efficiency of the method Tanga will be proved in more extensive clinical studies and tests, in the end, it can be used to significantly reduce the percentage of allergic reactions and the associated risks.
