BENGHAZI –
The international airport of Benghazi is Saturday under heavy guard officially reopened for commercial flights. The airport was three years closed because of the heavy fighting in and around the Libyan city and the chaos. The first aircraft that took off down Benina Airport, went to the capital, Tripoli, Amman, Jordan and Kufra in southeastern Libya.
There are also flights scheduled to Tunis, Istanbul and Alexandria. The transport companies are Libyan Airlines and Afriqiyah Airways, both state-owned. The past months have left there already some military and cargo aircraft.
