For many years she was without a trace, but 32 years after the bombing the Rainbow Warrior sank, have French and New Zealand media the French spy Christine Cabon found.
She was at the time when Greenpeace infiltrated. Excuses don’t want to make, but does say that all soldiers are sometimes “in situations that they had not desired.”
The Rainbow Warrior was used in protests against French nuclear testing on the atoll Mururoa. Two agents that the mines to the ship confirmed for terechtgestaan.
Cabon was 33 years old when the attack occurred. “For the New Zealand government and its people … it is an exceptional historical event,” says the now 66-year-old former spy.
She speaks of a “trauma” for New Zealand that “a friendly country to them attacked.” Cabon let you know that her work was done and no excuses. “Perhaps there are acquaintances that I have a message to send, people I in New Zealand met, but not to the outside world.”
