Google has invested in robotic journalists

Google Digital News Initiative has invested 800 thousand dollars in the drafting of Reporters and Data and Robots (RADAR), which leads the British news Agency the Press Association. The essence of the project is to combine robots of the journalists who will be expected to write articles on the basis of the collected Network information.

RADAR will be launched next year. It is assumed that the monthly bots will generate up to 30 thousand posts. At the moment on the project has five employees, whose task is to debug automation bots to collect information about medicine, accidents, politics and many other spheres.

It is expected that RADAR will be able to assist online publications in creating interesting, clickable content, which in turn will allow the site to attract more audience and earn on advertising.

The editor of the Press Association’s Pete Clifton said that professional journalists without work will not remain, but bots will significantly increase the amount of news notes to the level that even a coherent team is difficult to handle.

Now bots are already working in a number of major media, but they still need editing and factchecking program is not always able to distinguish the real news from the jokes, for example, so the control of the person she needed.
