The Chinese province spent a week exclusively on alternative energy

Alternative energy is great. However, integrating alternative sources into the power grid at the level of the whole country – not an easy task. The Chinese government understands better than others how important it is to gradually abandon fossil fuels, because China today boasts one of the highest levels of air pollution. The Chinese province of Qinghai for the first time in the whole week to make a living exclusively alternative energy sources such as water, wind and sun.

Chinese province-record refused of fossil fuel energy in the period from 17 to 23 June 2017. In Qinghai live 5.8 million people. HPP provided 72.3 percent of the required energy, the remaining share covered solar and wind power. Electricity consumption for the week amounted to 1.1 billion kilowatt-hours. And this, for a moment, is equivalent to the burning of 535 thousand tons of coal. The experiment was organized by the Chinese state-owned Corporation responsible for the mains. Preparations took several months. The results of such achievements of the Chinese energy is very proud, because this was the first step to the serious changes in the country.

Earlier similar experiments were conducted in other States. For example, last year Scotland during the day used exclusively by wind power. Energy from wind turbines in 39 454 MW then enough to provide 106% of its daily consumption. But it happened only thanks to the particularly windy weather, and the electricity consumption of many industrial enterprises have been reduced. Off the coast of Scotland is the island of egg, the inhabitants of which exist solely due to the energy received from the sun, wind and water. For electricity, none of them pays as energy company was founded by the islanders themselves.
