For the first time, let the authorities in Germany nuclear waste through the water to a temporary storage transport. Wednesday all morning, left under strict security measures, a ship loaded with three containers with radio-active waste in the disused central Obrigheim.

The ship will a journey of about 50 kilometres over the Neckar create in the direction of Neckarwestheim, where the waste is in temporary storage.
Opponents had demonstrations announced and left quickly. Four activists were in Bad Wimpfen with a large banner from a bridge pockets so the transport had to be shut down. The police sent special units to the the river crossing to the campaigners to remove.
The police will accompany the transport with boats, a helicopter and personnel on the shore. The trip would be expected to be twelve hours long but will now finish it.
According to energy company EnBW is the water transport is a safe way. The company let the next few weeks, five times three containers.
