Leaving migrants to die in the desert

NIAMEY –

More than fifty refugees are likely to have perished in the Sahara desert in the north of Niger, after they in the lurch were left by people smugglers. Social workers and local authorities have Tuesday been declared.

The victims were part of a convoy of three pickup trucks used to over seventy migrants through the desert to Libya, were transported. The drivers showed them, however, in the middle of the field behind.

Of the migrants knew there 23 running a place to reach and sound the alarm. Of fifteen refugees now that they have died of thirst. To the rest is still sought.
