Raketomobil Bloodhound SSC will be released the track in October 2017

On the pages of our website we already wrote about building a super fast car Bloodhound Supersonic Car (SSC), designed to set a new world speed record for ground transportation. As it became known, in 2018 this car will attempt to accelerate up to a speed of 1000 miles per hour, but the first trial run will take place much earlier – October 26, 2017.

Trial runs will be made on the runway Cornish airport, UK. Strip length is 2.7 km, which is sufficient for acceleration to more than 300 kilometers per hour. The practice will conduct a military pilot Andy green, who also had the honor to manage raketomobil in 2018 during the installation of the world record in the desert in South Africa.

In addition, before the test drive car Bloodhound SSC will be a series of tests with the included jet engine from the Eurofighter Typhoon. During the first races will assess the operability of emergency braking systems, brake systems, stability control systems, telemetry data, radio and other systems. As stated by one of the leaders of the project, Richard noble,

“The test vehicle on the runway of the airfield will be the biggest milestone in the history of our project. These tests will allow us to collect some important data for the design of the car. These data will allow us to develop and test procedures that we will use during the installation of the record.”
