Modobag: no time to explain, get in the suitcase!

Suitcases. Our faithful companions during long trips and air travel. We carefully stacked them things that we may need away from home. Then wind the film bags to the porters they are not soiled and not damaged (or to protect their possessions from theft – here’s as you like). Some bags even have built-with wheels to facilitate ground transport. You pulled the sliding handle forward. But what if these wheels would have turned a suitcase into a compact vehicle? It turns out that engineers from the company Modobag about a year working on the creation of “racing suitcases.”

The graceful movement of the hand suitcase Modobag turns into a small scooter, sitting on which you can reach the speed of 12.8 kilometers per hour (almost three times faster than normal pace). Maneuvers are carried out thanks to integrated steering system, and sit astride the suitcase comfortable due to the special retractable supports for your feet. The maximum weight of “driver” should not exceed 118 pounds. Built-in battery will be enough to overcome a distance of about 10 kilometers, which is enough to travel across several airports. The dimensions of the suitcase are such that it is not necessary to take the Luggage. He could easily pass for hand baggage, provided that it will fit quite a lot of your belongings.

Suitcase illuminated is equipped with two USB ports through which it can be recharged, and you can use these ports to charge your gadgets using Modobag as a Power Bank. The suitcase body is made of aluminium, it’s strong, but not very heavy. Modobag outside covered with durable ballistic nylon. Last year, the creation of suitcase was successfully funded on the crowdfunding portal Indiegogo. The developers managed to raise six times more money than required. And this despite the fact that the suitcase during the crowdfunding-campaign offered to customers for $ 1,295. On sale Modobag should arrive in August of this year for $ 1,495.
