MOSCOW –
The Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalni is Monday, arrested. The police arrested the politician outside his home, said the wife of Navalni on Twitter. That happened just before an announced demonstration against corruption.
The spokeswoman of Navalni reported meanwhile that the current in the office of the leader of the opposition is turned off. Also have agents according to a witness a few protesters picked up a metro in the Russian capital left.
The 41-year-old lawyer Navalni counts as a social activist and opponent of the regime of president Putin. He wants to participate in the presidential elections in 2018. He is by justice, however, accused of embezzlement and received a suspended sentence. The lawyer is appealing the decision. A convicted person may in Russia is not the presidential election take part in.
