Death penalty for message on Facebook

BAHAWALPUR –

A man from Pakistan, is sentenced to death in a message on Facebook. According to a court he is guilty of blasphemy. It is the first time that someone in Pakistan the death penalty is given for a post on social media.

Taimoor Raza (30) would the prophet Muhammad have offended. Raza is a member of the shiite minority in Pakistan. At a bus stop he would have looked at a video of a strict sunni community.

Profanity is strictly prohibited in Pakistan. Even criticism of the strict prohibition on blasphemy can be dangerous. In april, there was a critical student at a university, lynched by other students, because he and Muhammad would have been offended.
