American commandos in action in Philippines

MANILA –

Special American units at the request of Manila involved in the fight against extremists on the Philippine island of Mindanao. They help in the battles to the city of Marawi, where may 23, jihadists with ties to the terrorist group Islamic State (IS) invaded.

A spokesman of the Us embassy in the Philippine capital Saturday confirmed that Us troops have been deployed. The relations between the Filipino president Rodrigo Duterte and Washington were months and months of very bad.

The most important group of jihadists in Marawi calls itself the group Maute, called to two criminal brothers Abdullah and Omar Maute. A spokesman of the Philippine army said Saturday that ,,there are very strong indications that the brothers already have been killed” in Marawi.

The Maute-group was, until recently, barely known. The Philippine army has great difficulty in the group the boss to be. The three-year-old movement would consist of jihadists from other groups on the island, supplemented by fighters from abroad. In 2015 called the group Maute to a ‘branch’ of IS.
