Party leader AfD wants ban on headscarf

The German politician Alice Weidel, one of the two lijsttrekkers of the right-populist party Alternative für Deutschland (AfD), wants to wear a headscarf in some places prohibit. That she has said in an interview with the Berlin ’Tagesspiegel’ (Sunday edition). Fully veiled by the everyday life, is absolutely inconsistent.

Weidel is of the opinion that a head scarf, the apartheid of men and women carries and therefore it’s a completely sexist symbol. “Veils from the streets and the public spaces disappear. That would legally need to be recorded.” The wearing of a nikab or burqa should be banned. For violation of the rule would be a hefty fine.

With her comments going Weidel further than the election program of the AfD. It only called for a ban on full veiling in the public arena and in public service. In addition, the workers of the government is not the head scarf on.
