Sneaky bastards over there in Sweden.
Today, the sporting branch of the Swedish car manufacturer announced last year, a record having driven on the Nordschleife with a S60 Polestar, adjusted by Cyan Racing. However, this is never brought out.
The sedan raced a time of 7:51.110. This was the S60 Polestar is the fastest four door sedan ever on the Nordschleife. The record time today is no longer valid. In september 2016, it was announced that Alfa with the Giulia Quadrifoglio (driving test) in a time of 7:32 knew to put down. The record of Volvo was driven with the ‘old’ S60 Polestar (driving test). The variant with the 350 hp strong six-in-line with twin-scroll turbo technology.
Volvo says through a video that they record, intentionally secret. They wanted to be in the background working on the development of their street and race cars without being in the spotlights. “Swedish as we are, we did not roeptoeteren about a record. We wanted to just learn from this experience”, says the carmaker. Thus they share a sneer to other car manufacturers, with a lot of showoff usually disclose that there is a record that is driven on the famous piece of asphalt. The video of Volvo (including the delicious sound of the T6) you’ll check on Autojunk.
