Red Bull Racing has implicitly admitted that their competitors were right and displayed in Monaco at the start with a T-wing on the RB13.
Red Bull team boss Christian Horner was earlier this year total, not to mention the T-wing. Especially when the extra spoiler on the Mercedes Bottas in Bahrain of W08 flew and the floor of Max’s RB13 damaged was Horner white-hot rage.
The T-wing exists at all is (literally) through a hole in the rules. Different teams such as Mercedes, Ferrari, Haas F1, and Williams had a clear sharp note, and the luchtgeleider from the beginning of the season on their cars. Other teams followed the good example soon, but Red Bull continued to insist that the thing is ugly and dangerous. The hateful object was to quickly be banned. That happened eventually, but only with effect from next year.
But, Christian was not just that sneuneus that BMW afkraakt because it secretly green with envy by the gerse 316i that the neighbor on the driveway has? It seems now though, because Red Bull is now just at the start with the extra vleugeltje at the end of the shark fin. The promised aerodynamic changes to the RB13, also for the seemed visible. In Spain, there was indeed also all the necessary verspijkerd to the RB13, but you need a real aero-nerd to be excited to be of a slightly modified barge boards, and the like.
The easy conclusion is that we have the final see proof of Newey’s involvement with the car, although you, of course, no genius necessary to have something to copy. At Red Bull they want to, however, not yet speak of a B-spec car. Newey is opposite Globo also pessimistic about the chances of the team to see the almost-victory of last year to repeat. Ricciardo was actually the whole weekend the fastest, but thanks to a wrong pit strategy went to Hamilton with the gain off.
“Last year we had a good chassis, so despite the lack of engine power, we could shine more in Monaco. This year we do not have the best chassis, so also not the same opportunity. I think we need to focus on Singapore for the next opportunity.”
Despite these sober words of Newey took to the red bulls yesterday reasonably hard in the free training. A victory on their own strength, there may not be, but a stage…
