Scientists explained how cities face sea-level rise

American scientists report that by the year 2050 the sea levels near coastal areas will increase by 10-20 cm. because Of this, floods in the Equatorial and tropical coastal zones will be twice more than today. They are also called regions and cities that will suffer more than others.

The most difficult thing will cities such as Mumbai and Cochin in India and Abidjan in côte d’ivoire. For catastrophic consequences there is enough sea-level rise of only 5 cm.

The danger zone includes Vancouver in Canada, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, USA, all cities of the Atlantic coast of Europe.

The conclusions of the experts made, based on extreme value theory applied to the available data on rates of sea-level rise and flooding in various parts of the Earth.
