This Volvo went bíjna in production

To bad huh?

In 2005 presented Volvo, at that time still be in for a whale of a concept car, the hot T6 Roadster. This hot rod-style has quite a bit away from a random Donkervoort. The T6 was powered by an Audi five cylinder, but by the blown 2.9-litre six-in-line from the S80. The device shows, of course, also similarities with the Plymouth Prowler.

The block was good for 300 hp and according to the Swedes got the T6 there 330 kilometers per hour. That claim we refer to the realm of fiction, if only because the wheels too much wind resistance and pick up such speeds to be achieved with this ability. The engine was not in the neuswaar you would expect, but behind the cockpit.

The T6 was also a fantasy by Leif Tufvesson, who later at Koenigsegg and started to work. As the rumour went that the Roadster in a small edition would be built. Unfortunately, that plan was shot, and so it remained single instance.

A few interesting facts, for the kroegpraat:

  • The comfie chairs came from the S80, as well as the steering system, the rear subframe and the remmerij.
  • The hood (behind) came up for extra cooling, à la Porsche 911.
  • The steering wheel was borrowed from the S60.
  • The T6 Roadster weighed only 1.089 kg.
