Rostec has begun to develop adaptive traffic lights

As reports a press-service of rostec state Corporation holding “shvabe” together with “Roselektronika” currently working on a new adaptive traffic lights. Traffic lights are installed at regulated crossings of a number of Russian cities to monitor movement and improvement of the situation on the roads.

The installed equipment enables communication traffic to the control center by means of Ethernet and GPRS. In addition, traffic lights are equipped with a module for collecting traffic information, which, depending on the features of the road environment consists of up to eight detectors. They can automatically take into account the intensity of natural lighting – to increase or decrease the brightness of the traffic signal, keep records of traffic density. Traffic lights are able to change the duration of the phases of green and red signal, and in an emergency situation – transfer equipment in the flashing yellow mode. As stated by the Deputy Director of “Roselektronika” Arseniy Brykin, Deputy head of shvabe Ivan Ozhigin,

Lighting Schwabe works in almost all cities of Russia, the products are supplied in 95 countries of the world.”

Equipment testing will be completed by the end of 2017, and next year the adaptive traffic lights will be installed in Nalchik, Rostov-on-don, Stavropol, Kemerovo, Ryazan, Astrakhan and Kursk.
