BAGHDAD –
Iraqi troops on Thursday, a new offensive began in the Iraqi city of Mosul, part of which is in the hands of Islamic State (IS). Two large army attack the city from the northwest, said a spokesman of the army.
There has since October fought to Mosul, the last stronghold of IS in Iraq. Large parts of the city is already driven out. Militants are still mainly in the historical part in the west of the city. Estimated there are still up to a maximum of three hundred IS fighters.
