Scientists say about the origin of the continents on Earth

Geologists continue to argue about when the Earth began powerful tectonic processes that eventually led to the formation of continents. However, one thing they agree — the first few minutes the Earth had a crust, resembling the lid of a saucepan and gradually heat up.

One group of scientists is of the opinion that the movement of the plates began immediately after the formation of the planet Earth.

Others believe that the tectonic plates started to move only after millions of years after the appearance of the planet.

After the birth of the Earth resembled Venus. But then our planet’s geological coverage was split, and Venus remained intact.
