If it is true what Helmut Marko says, it’s a few frustrating days…
This coming weekend is the feast for all the Formula 1 cares. All drive the cars their rounds in Baku, on the brand new street circuit of the Azerbaijani capital. The best part about this is that we are a week shorter have to wait to see what our Max for koningsacties get up to, more annoying is that the circuit of the Red Bulls absolutely not. There is a straight stretch of 2.2 km and that is exactly the achilles heel of these cars. They come simply top speed deficit to the mercedes cars (and probably also the Ferrari’s) hard to make.
Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko says there according to Eurosport the following:
The extremely long back straight does not work in our favor. Our computer simulations demonstrate that we are already 1.2 seconds per lap lose. That is as good as impossible to do in the bends, even though we have a great car.”
1.2 seconds per lap… that’s in no small feat. Then Max the ‘large’ and Daniel the second-best of the grid, which hole do they not dichtrijden.
It could also be that bad and that Marko expectations just a little tempers. What is pleasant; the whining from the tires due to a cold track, they don’t get in Baku. According to weather forecasts, it is during all the days that the car is at least 30 degrees.
By the way, if you think that the circuit in Baku again so impersonal Tilke-job with uneven track section is wider than a football field, then you are wrong. Look HERE but once.
And if you want to know how a straight stretch of 2.2 km looks like, check out this. Also for the rest of the job by the way.
And if extragratis final bonus, the promo video of Red Bull for the GP. Nice done!
