The RAI Association is that the next government should look into the possibilities of road pricing. More than ten years ago, were the first conversations take place, but so far has not a single cabinet to the pricing actually implemented. According to the RAI Association should be the subject popular again for the forthcoming elections of the Second Chamber. If the present cabinet until the end manages to remain will be sitting there at its earliest in march 2017 elections. In the intervening period, try the trade association of the topic (for the umpteenth time) to life. The RAI is not the only party that is enthusiastic about road pricing. Also the aa is a supporter of the measure.
The call of the chamber of trade is yet another. In november 2015, wrote to the Organisation for Economic co-operation and Development (OECD) in a report addressed to state secretary Dijksma of Infrastructure and the Environment that road pricing is the solution against traffic jams in the Netherlands. A month ago, the Central Planning bureau (CPB), with the ‘Potential Mobility’ report. Also here is a hymn about road pricing. More asphalt or wider highways are of the devil.
The statement of the RAI Association is the third call within a year to road pricing of new life.
