The developers of Facebook were testing the SMS integration with messenger Messenger for mobile devices based on Android a few months, and here, the function officially started. SMS integration with Messenger is completely optional, so if you need to specifically activate it.
For this you will need to go to settings in the app, choose “SMS” and then click “Default SMS app”. After that, all text messages will be sent to and received via the app Facebook Messenger. Interestingly, SMS Messenger is not limited to support text and pictures are supported, including stickers, emoticons and transfer of geographical coordinates, as in the conventional messages of the messenger. Facebook specifically emphasizes that SMS are not stored them on the server, and sent as it should be SMS.
The updated Facebook Messenger for Android is available for free download in Google Play.
