In addition to an excellent national soccer team have our neighbours also have a set autodesigners of size produced. We present the eight most important to you.
Luc Donckerwolke
Perhaps the most famous Belgian soft pencil afficionado is Luc Donckerwolke. This best man and Lincoln-hater was in the Peruvian Lima born, grew up in South America and Africa, studied in Switzerland, but it has the Belgian nationality. In 1965, born Donckerwolke began in 1990 his design career as an intern at Peugeot. In 1992, he stepped over to Audi Design, where he, among others, the Audi A2, the first Audi A4 Avant, the Audi R8 Le Mans concept and the first Škoda’s Fabia and Octavia (co-)dated. In 1998, he received the design-in charge at Lamborghini, where he, in my eyes, his most important achievement recorded by the brilliant Murcié design. Before the Murcié he did also the Diablo 6.0 VT, and afterwards came also the Gallardo and Murciélago roadster from the hand of Luc. Luc’s latest Lambo was the Miura concept, which he co-designed by Walter de Silva. That Walter would be Luc’s path, then even more often started to cross. In 2005, Luc namely the difficult task to within the VAG group Walter to follow in the SEAT, after that last made the switch to Audi. SEAT came when just come off a relatively successful period, and any football coach can tell you that the hard board is. At SEAT signed Luc, among others, the Ibiza from 2009 and a number of concepts, to know the Tribu, IBx and IBe. In 2011 shook VAG designers again next time around and it was Luc, the ‘second man’ behind Walter. A little more than a year later he was the successor of fellow Belgian Dirk van Braeckel, the boss of Bentley’s design department, where he assumes responsibility for the FLying Spur and the stylish EXP 10 Speed 6 concept. Last year, there was suddenly the message that Luc leaves VAG. Later that year, he joined Hyundai. It is rumored that he is being groomed to Peter Schreyer. You know, the man of KIA’s Tiger Nose Grill.
Dirk van Braeckel
We called ‘m already in the bit about Luc. Also Dirk van Braeckel, is a successful autodesigner. The 58-year-old has been working for over 30 years to VAG products. He began his career as a trainee at Ford. Ford suggested that Dirk went to study at the Royal College of Art in London and so it came to pass. Ford had then, not too long to the benefit of that investment because, in 1984, joined Dirk in the service at Audi. More than 30 years later it still works under the umbrella of VAG. In his period with the group from Wolfsburg, he signed, among others (co) to the Audi A8 concept in 1994, the A3 in 1996, the Octavia in 1996, the Fabia in 1999, the Superb in 2001, the Octavia from 2004, the Bentley Continental GT from 2004, the Continental Flying Spur from 2005, the Bentley Azure 2006 Bentley Brooklands in 2007, the Bentley Mulsanne in 2009 Bentley EXP 9 F (SUV) in 2012. Fortunately for Dirk he had before that last draft all of the “European Automotive Design Award by Designers” of his concullega’s gotten.
Lowie Vermeersch
No Vermeer, but Vermeersch. Lowie is a designer from Kortrijk, which is ample time chief designer at Pininfarina. Already the grandson of a sculptor flows the design-the flow of blood through the veins at Lowie. He joined Pininfarina in through an internship, after training on our own Delft University of technology. At Pininfarina he made part of the design team that the city Nido, the Birdcage 75, the Pininfarina Sintesi and the Ferrari California was signed. In 2007 he was the chief designer and he was closely involved in the Pininfarina Bluecar and the Duettottanta concept that Pininfarina designed Alfa Romeo. In 2011 he left Pininfarina and today he has his own studio called Granstudio. A list with 8 of his flowing designs you can find HERE.

Pierre Leclercq studied automotive design in Switzerland and later in the US. In August 2000, he started at BMW, for which he is the controversial X6 designed. A swek-mobile space, security, technical ingenuity, sportsmanship, style and luxury together.

Steve Crijns first product design is studied in Antwerp, and subsequently he followed the example of his fellow countryman Dirk, by the Royal College of Art in London to study. While he studied there, he was noticed by Lotus. His first job at Lotus was the interior of the Esprit GT3 in progress, which is immediately a great success. Followed by more projects. So he also worked at the V8 Esprit for the 340R and the Lotus Elise. Also the Evora worked for Steve.
Luc Landuyt
If a failed medicine student, went to Luc at the higher institute for product development in Antwerp. When this study came and went he to the Royal College of Art in London. Autoblog top tip: if you want a designer, go to this institute. After London, it was Luc started working for Ford in Cologne. When Ford, in 1985, the department moved to England, got Landuyt over to BMW and signed for the German brand to the BMW Z1 with wegklapdeuren, which was developed under the inspiring leadership of our own Harm lagaay family. In 1992 got Luc Landuyt on to the Renault. Louis De Fabribeckers
This Henegouwenaar worked at the Italian Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera. When the company in early 2006 was taken over by the Dutchman Paul Koot, went Louis De Fabribeckers immediately as head designer to get started. Some well-known cars made by him are to be drawn: the Maserati Bellagio Fastback, the A8GCS Berlinetta and Bentley Continental Flying Star. Want The Fabribeckers ever a large Alfa Romeo sign, inspired by a classic 6C.
