After the now usual fotolekken, BMW has decided to direct the cloth of the 3 Series LCI (Life Cycle Impulse) to pull. The motorenlineup now runs from 318i (136 hp) and with the twice as large 340i set (326 hp).
The revamped version is proposed as a sedan (F30) and Touring (F31). For the F30 was for the 340i set-topmotorisering (an upgrade and replacement for the 335i) was chosen in combination with a Sport Line package; F31 we see as the 320d and 330d, with both Sport and Luxury Line outfit.
LED around
The new 3 gets a big LED injection: dagverlichting, pinkers, reverse light, brake light, and at extra cost also the headlights get diodes. In addition, there is a choice of several new paint – and leeropties, and new velgdesigns.
Subcutaneous were the dampers replaced, the new ones are better adjusted. In Munich they attract the criticism that the sharpness in the handling of what disappeared so clearly.
Specifications
For the first time we see a three-cylinder in the 3 Series, this finds its way to the 318i. For now see the motorenpalet as follows, expected in the coming months/years various opvulmodellen here in between. The specified values are the most favorable values, on the basis of the sedan. If you are a Touring / manual / xDrive takes, the values are slightly less favourable:
ModelMotoriseringVermogen / MaximumkoppelVerbruik
318i1.5 I-3136 hp / 220 Nm5 l/100km
320i2.0 I-4184 hp / 290 Nm5,5 l/100km
330i2.0 I-4252 hp / 350 Nm6,1 l/100km
340i3.0 I-6326 hp / 450 Nm7,4 l/100km
316d2.0 I-4116 hp / 270 Nm3,9 l/100km
318d2.0 I-4150 hp / 320 Nm4,0 l/100km
320d2.0 I-4190 hp / 400 Nm4,0 l/100km
320d EDE2.0 I-4163 hp / 400 Nm3,9 l/100km
325d2.0 I-4218 hp / 450 Nm4,9 l/100km
330d3.0 I-6258 hp / 560 Nm4,9 l/100km
335d xDrive3.0 I-6313 hp / 630 Nm5,4 l/100km
The CO2-uitsoot of the 320 EDE is located at 99-113 grams/km. So if you have the right version choose, drive this this year with 20% of list price (max. 110 gr/km). With 106-116 g/km fall incidentally also the most fuel-efficient non-EDE 320d’s in this category.
The 3 Series LCI is at the end of July at the German dealer, even before its big rival, the Audi A4, is launched. The latter occurs in september at the IAA, then we will have the first models at the end of 2015 at the dealer and expect. BMW has about six months ‘free game’.
Future: PHEV, M Performance, and M3
Of course, BMW’s plug-in hybrid technology on the new 3 Series, apply, linked to a 2.0 TwinTurbo engine, which is probably the name 330e will wear. This PHEV has a specified consumption of 2,2 l / 100 km, with emissions of 49 g/km. The combined power and torque (petrol engine + electric motor) comes out at 252 hp and 420 Nm, good for a standaardsprintje in 6,3 count and a peak of 225 km/h. Unfortunately, the 330e (promo video), however, just too late for 7% of list price, so you will be in the 15% category in 2016.
We also expect long-term M340i of M Performance, which struggles with o.a. the C450 AMG Sport from Mercedes. Thus, it is not so difficult to predict how much hp the M340i about going to get.
As icing on the cake we get to term a M3 with LCI looks, but this we do not expect before 2018.
