Android Auto will work on smartphones as a regular application

At the conference for developers Google I/O in 2016, which takes place in mountain view (CA) with 18 to 20 may, Google told about the upcoming changes to car platform Android Auto.

Soon motorists will no longer require on-Board car system with Android Auto support, instead, the platform will be able to run on a smartphone as a standalone application. As a result, employing a smartphone, you can use voice commands to answer calls and messages, control music and navigation and minimally distracting from managerial process by the car.

Among the new features is the ability to activate “OK Google” without having to press the button on the console. Another innovation is the integration of Waze with maps. Also, the mobile device can connect to the car without wires with Wi-Fi network.
