We don’t think so.
Students at Clemson University’s International Center for Automotive Research built this uBox, better known as Deep Orange 6 (a sequel to Deep Orange 4) with hand on it. The bollebozen worked for two years with Toyota North America on the project and the end result is a weird thing with a flexible interior. A kind Renault Espace for generation Z, indeed…
A quote from the press release clarified one and the other one for what concerns the target audience:
The typical customer for uBox is a young entrepreneur who wants a vehicle that can provide utility and recreation on the weekend, but that can also sacrifice office space or other career-centric or lifestyle uses during the week.
As I said, you can use the interior in all directions, and, of course, is the powertrain all electric. Furthermore, Toyota is proud of the curved roof, which is constructed from a combo of carbon fiber and aluminum. Previously showed the Japanese still another particular concept that is a little bit in the vein of fit as the uBox, namely U2. Both are not really beauties, but they are still cleverer than the Mirai.
