Since the Defender out of production, gone is the number of thefts of Land Rover Defenders increased dramatically. In some regions in England was the Defender even 69% more often stolen, but why?
The answer is simple: rising prices and the fear that parts of rare. Now the Defender since the end of January, officially out of production, increases the demand for spare parts for these cars. In addition, the value of this kind of cars rap on the rise.
In North Yorkshire (United Kingdom), this led to 69% more thefts of Defenders. The police are there major concerns, because it seems to go to organised gangs with a lot of knowledge of the alarm systems and track & trace devices of the cars. Most of the cars disappear to foreign countries, some cars are completely stripped and in parts offered. The police recommend people to have good alarm systems and vehicle tracking systems to build, according to AutoCar.
