Wiebes
Today there was a vote in the second chamber about ‘Autobrief II’ state secretary of Finance Eric Wiebes. The proposal was adopted with two interesting amendments.

Autobrief II is the letter that Eric Wiebes last year to the council of ministers sent expressing his undying love for taxes on cars declared. The approach was actually to make the tax on cars simpler, fairer and where it may be less heavy to create. From a few simple examples of calculation showed however soon that this is not the case. In the second room was voted today about the letter. The result of these two amendments, which might also be the loyal AB reader touch.

The first is the halftarief for the motor tax phevs enjoy a year maintained for longer than originally planned. Actually, this scheme from 2019 change in a driekwartstarief, but that is now postponed for a year until 2020. This applies to cars with a maximum CO2 emissions of 50 grams per km, a value which is only achieved by phevs. Well, on paper at least.

The second piece of news concerns the phasing out of the BPM. This is to 2020, with twelve percent, but by an amendment of the british national Party’s second mp Carola Schouten this is not the case for the diesel surcharge. The belastingkloof between cars on petrol and cars on the duivelsap is thus larger.
