Forget the almost priceless Cayman GT4, it is time that Porsche back to the ordinary man goes on thinking. In theory, this should namely be the cheapest 718 Cayman.
This morning presented by Porsche is the 718 Cayman. Hardly a surprise, the 718 Boxster and the Cayman combine is as simple as 1+1. No longer is there in the Cayman, a six-cylinder boxer engine, but a four cylinder engine with two or two and a half liters. More powerful, more fuel efficient, but also a whole lot more beneficial than previously. The cost of a Cayman you at least 74.100 euro, the new and more powerful 718 Cayman is “already” for 65.700 euros in the price list.
300 hp is an entry-level model is therefore a poor bastard and I’m here not to argue for more horsepower. However, I want here a lance break for less kilos and a lower purchase price. Just as Porsche did with the 968, the penultimate Porsche sports car with the four-cylinder. This was there as a Club Sport, which is meant as less sound insulation, no radio, air-conditioning or electric windows and definitely no electrically adjustable seats, or a zonnedakje.
