Also the Swedish car manufacturer has set itself a very ambitious goal for 2025.
The Swedish brand has just announced that they have, by 2025, 1 million cars with a plug sold. This is the plug-in hybrids, but also to fully electric cars. Currently, Volvo is not yet in the offer, but according to Volvo it is in 2019 on the market.
“We have set ourselves deliberately to be a pretty ambitious goal,” says Håkan Samuelsson, the boss is at Volvo. All the way from the fanciful, the ambitions otherwise not. Volvo is currently already quite successful with her Twin Engine models, and the new platforms also offer the ability for hybrids and fully electric cars. The new XC90, S90 and V90 are already on the Scalable Product Architecture platform (SPA) and also the following 60-series will use it. The 40-series, the Compact Modular Architecture platform (CMA). The first cars on this CMA platform, we can according to Volvo, incidentally, even in the short-term expect.
Although ambitious, seem to be the targets of Volvo in every case which is more realistic than the plans of the Labour party, who are willing to strive to be in 2025, purely electric cars to allow for nieuwverkoop. The plans fit in Volvo’s strategy for sustainable business. So they already announced that in 2020 no one should die or are seriously injured need to get behind the wheel of a Volvo, they want in that same year, at least 35 percent of all leadership positions by women, and Volvo in 2025, fully climate neutraalondernemen.
