J. D. Powers has traditionally their annual quality assessment back to the outside. Porsche scores, Fiat fails.

In these Initial Quality Study, the experiences of customers collected their findings in the first ninety days after purchase of a car. The research focuses on 233 facets, including exterior, engine and transmission, driving experience, interior and audio/communication/entertainment/navigation. In total, 207 models examined.

Average of 116 problems per 100 cars reported. Slightly higher than the 113 notifications, on average, in 2013. J. D. Powers shows that the small increase is mainly caused by the severe winter in the US. In states where there is less cold went continued the average number of problems is about the same. At the same time, there is a footnote, put new technologies in cars. Customers can’t always handle that and often have problems with voice control, pairing of bluetooth systems, and other audio-gein. That is, after all, used in the research. (And shows that both Apple and Google there site can win.)

Well, the winner. At the top of the list is – again – the Porsche is finished, with 74 problems per 100 vehicles (PP100). The second place is for Jaguar and the top three is closed by Toyota’s luxistenzusje Lexus. On the eighth place, we come to the first premium German at: BMW. The brand lays it off at both Kia as Hyundai, which is on a respective 7th and 4th place finishes. Hekkensluiter and outlier is Fiat, with 206 PP100. One place above it is Jeep, ironically enough, recently a dochtermerk of Fiat.
