Golf GTI Clubsport S takes the L-‘Ringrecord! [updated]

Concerngenoot Seat and Renault have again what to do.

Since the Ritz, P1 and 918 Spyder hold sway in supercarland, do you actually hear not much more from manufacturers who brag about ‘Ringtijden and related issues. Or would that speed limits there is something to do with it have had?

Anyway, pretty much every year, there will be a new brand to the FWD record at the circuit of the circuits to claim. Seat and Renault alternated on the throne, but now Volkswagen is at the longest end pull with the Golf GTI Race, a hotter GTI Clubsport with not less than 310 horsepower under the hood.

The Wave set a time of 7:49,21, and that’s seriously rap. The Lamborghini Murciélago and the ever popular BMW M3 CSL did it, for example, not faster. In addition, the Wave with this time only one second slower than a pretty potent Porsche 996 GT3 RS. How that all comes?

The number of pk’s, we have already let you in, that’s not so very shocking. VW has the Clubsport’s, however, on a strict diet, put, and so it is with 1.285 kg but less than 63 kg lighter than a regular GTI and is 30 kg lighter than a regular Race. In addition, the base is fully adjusted to the properties of the Ring. That will also have helped.

The Clubsport’s is built in honor of the 40th anniversary of the Golf GTI and the traditional Wörthersee meeting (which started today) even a bit more enjoyable.

UPDATE: The Clubsport’s that the ‘Ringtijd reed, was pretty stripped. So was missing the back seat, got the Golf a aluminum subframe, other remmerij, sticky Michelin tires, and was the sound insulation from the GTI gejast. More pictures, check below in the gallery, the video you’ll find HERE!
