Dubai picks up a new record: fastest fire engine in the world

Who take the term ‘fire’ quite literally.

In Dubai they do not such a prat when it comes to decent transport for the emergency services. We all know how generous the local hermandad is transported by the particular city, but also the fire department has good transport links.

The fleet consists of nice Corvette’s standard, which is already quite a rap. Not fast enough, according to the Dubai Civil Defence. The fire department wanted to have the fastest fire engine in the world, and so were two of the Corvette Stingray’s to the rack. Dubai is also known for record after record to win.

The Americans are fully operational as a fire engine and are now registered with Guinness World Records. The organization was able to confirm that there is no other official fire-brigade as soon as the two ‘Vette’s from Dubai. The two cars have an unknown number of power, but with tuning a top speed of 340 km/h. (via TimeOutDubai)
