Through the years, there are a lot of automotive creations that the senses prikkelden. An American museum has some particularly notable appearances gathered, and there is an exhibition devoted to it.

A car design you don’t have at the design department of a large manufacturer to work. Nowadays, we are bombarded with fantasiecreaties that thanks to photoshop easily from many computer reels, used to have the old-fashioned inventors, just with their hands to the work, and clay models or full prototypes built.

At The Atlanta Museum of High Art begins later this month under the name of Dream Cars, an exhibition in which concepts which range from well-known models such as the Lancia (Bertone) Stratos HF Zero (1970) and BMW’s Gina Concept to be completely unknown creations as the Norman Timbs Special (1947), the Stout Scarab (1936), and an electric French egg out of the Second world War.

The designers are mainly American, but also Italian and French stuff in between, including the bizarre Avions Voisin C25 Aérodyne, more of an old coachbuild than a concept, really.

It is far away, but if you’re somewhere in the coming months in the area, it seems that the exhibition our worth; he runs until 7 september. All the information here. The taste of it? Then continue along this old American concepts.

With thanks to Sjoerd for the tip!
