Special: the ridiculous Bentley Continental SC

On this cart is more to things than the America-strategy of Volkswagen, and yet it is an icon of a car.
By fellow Larssb, the man who paints with a keyboard, the Continental R (and a bit of the Continental T) already treated. This dope coupé with interior space that is not even slightly do justice to the gargantueske overall, served as a basis for the Continental SC: the Sedanca Coupé. Of the Continental SC, apart from a handful of Mulliners, from 1998 to 2000, only 72 copies were built and all of them had one important disadvantage in common with each other: the removable roof closed for no meter. The SC is also sometimes mockingly Soaked Carpet called. Funny, but you will have time for -let’s say – a million guilders, a new Bentley with a leaking roof have bought… Not a disaster if you are in Dubai lives, but less witty in a uk or British climate.
The name refers not to the soggy carpets. Instead, it called Bentley memories of the Sedanca’s from the years ’30. Below is a picture of an old Sedanca, for the imaging. It is a Bentley 3.5 Sedanca Coupe 1936.
In spite of the meager roof was the comfort and luxury a beast of a car. For the people in the front, because on the back seat to take with you, first you legs to above the knee amputated. Check the gallery and you’ll understand what we mean. Remember also that the SC more than five metres long and that all that length and not only by the huge bonnet was taken.
Of course, resides under the same bonnet, the famous 6¾-litre V8, good for 400 horsepower and -more importantly – 830 Nm of torque. This was the SC between the Continental R and Continental T in. Also for this mastodon is true, however, that numbers do not matter, as soon as you marvel at that great and striking appearance. It is unfortunate that Continental today is virtually exclusively associated with that omgekatte Phaeton, for ever were the cars that the buyers of the brand Bentley no violence before. Oh wait, we had the Brooklands yet.
