Audi takes special stuff to Techno Classica

Techno Classica is coming up. The largest klassiekerbeurs of Europe is always a guarantee for particular autospul. Audi takes two other unique models.

Car manufacturers use is usually a specific theme, Audi is this year with two forgotten concepts to Techno Classica. The issue here is the Quattro Spyder and Avus Quattro. Both concepts were shown in 1991. The Audi quattro Spyder with a mid-engine was a sensation at its debut at the Frankfurt motor show in 1991. Customers were in line but the car was too expensive for mass production and it remained a prototype. Barely a month later, Audi on the Tokyo stock exchange the still more radical Audi Avus quattro. Both whole concept car’s had a mid-engine. The Spyder was powered by a 2.8 V6, while the Avus it could do with a dope W12 (509 hp). The concepts made never make it to a production stage, although the sporty four-wheelers, the first signs were for the Audi TT and the later Audi R8.
On the stand is the Audi Group S, who, in 1987, in the world rally championship would come true. Real oldies are the Slaby-Beringer from 1924, and the Framo TV 300-tricycle five years later; also traveling to the very rare DKW F off to Essen. That saw the light of day in 1941, but the war came the production is never more than ten copies.
Techno Classica will take place from 6 to 10 april in Essen. The Audi’s during the Techno Classica 2016 to marvel at the large Audi stand in hall 7 of the Messe Essen. Those who do not have the opportunity to go there: the Avus is also exhibited in the Audi museum in Ingolstadt.
