Toyota EX-III concept
At high speed for long distances on the highway to travel with that purpose was Toyota’s EX-III concept.

The EX-III had, according to Toyota a mid-engine, but what exactly is it housed under the bodywork kept them secret. Nothing In reality of course, but the design alluded to a turbine engine.

The design drew Toyota itself, the help of an exotic Italian automobile design had the Japanese not required. This was a deviation from contemporaries like the Mazda RX 87 (Bertone) and the Isuzu Bellett MX1600 (Ghia). On the elongated nose, drop the headlights straight on, you would top expect, but Toyota put them through to the bottom.

In contrast to many other models from the sixties had the EX-III a smooth bottom, purely for the aerodynamics, of course. Also, of course: this futuristic concept we saw never anything in return. However, gave Toyota the world a year later, the Celica, but that was a bit higher.
