Vencer Sarthe
A year and a half ago, the Dutch Vencer the final production model of its first supercar, the Sarthe. How is it actually with the manufacturer from Vriezenveen?

Chronology

The world will get the first air of Vencer in 2012, thanks to a spot on autojunk.nl. Actually had Vencer-founder Robert Cobben his bold new initiative, something longer secret, but he just had the bad luck during his small testrondje spotted. In 2013, the Top Marques event in Monaco, the time has come: for the eyes of the international press and with Prince Albert as guest of honour makes the Sarthe are werelddebuut.

Although this is not in so many words is said turns out to be a pre-production version of the Sarthe. Later that year presents Vencer what we think the final design is, but this is, however, not until september 2014, when the slightly edited and upgraded ‘production version‘ of the Sarthe goes live.

Hereinafter referred to as did some of the representatives of the international press in a circle, which very quiet was about the sportwagenbouwer. We are now a sloppy one and a half years now, and very curious about the status of our youngest car brand. After all, such as the PR-person in us in 2014 reported, there would be that year, already have a copy delivered, and ultimately a production of 12 pieces per year. We contacted CEO Robert Cobben, and inquired into the status of Vencer, the number of orders, the number of delivered Sarthes, and any plans for the future.

There are cars made of?

But unfortunately, none of our questions was a direct response given. With regard to orders and deliveries, we get even no response at all. The only thing that Cobben our report is that there is currently no news, but this later this year. Ok, but we could make the car even drive? “We use our demo is currently for prospects events,” says Robert Cobben. A tour through the factory, maybe? ‘Unfortunately, we currently only customers and suppliers access to our workplace.’ That give, I think, or on the shop floor as cars are produced, you might say. “We currently have two cars in production and are in addition engaged on the production scale.’ Is there anything more to tell about the Vencer Sarthe maybe? “When there is more news than you will receive a press release.’

Frankly, we believe there hardly. Almost two years ago, we heard that we ‘almost’ were able to come for a ride in the Vencer Sarthe, but in the answers that Robert Cobben gives us is there no vision. We have the car, however also already times no more scholarships given, and we have never heard anyone say that he is a Sarthe in order, let alone once a happy owner have seen on a trackday, or other fun event.

The production version of the Sarthe we have the last time actually only on a Chinese stock exchange to see diving. That seemed like a nice business model, because the Chinese car market was booming. Meanwhile, it appears that the economy is harder to deposit than the image of Bill Cosby.

A dream

A private car to start is a task that no one is frivolous should be construed. To develop a car without the deep pockets of brands like BMW or Mercedes is almost impossible. That also explains why in most cases it fails. Nevertheless, we hope for everyone that it will succeed, because you own the car set up sounds like a boys book. Of course we understand that many of those who dream to have, and you can’t help but respect as someone ‘m also where trying to make. Anyway, we get in the case of Vencer the impression that it is not successful. When everything is prosperous, went, were, we might have been welcome to the Sarthe to drive, but at least for the production to come and see. We hope, however, that the mark is not a bubble but it already seems out splashing. Go Robert Cobben, prove us wrong!
