Soon a 9 – or 10-speed in a BMW? I don’t, the Germans find it enough with the against each other of the manufacturers.
In the last few years tel you if you are not a machine, with as much as possible, be done in your car great. BMW has been delivering for quite some time, an 8-bin, and there it remains, says a BMW manager across the British media. Use clear language, and also refreshing.
BMW makes a manual zesbak, M-DCT with 7 move, or an automatic transmission with 8 gears (and reverse of course). As it is, and so will provisionally continue to be, because the manufacturer from Bavaria, this may well from the feet. Rumors about a possible manual 7-speed seem to be no follow-up.
Again, let’s briefly a look at how it currently is with the biedingenoorlog in transmissieland:
9 or 10 gears
Both Mercedes and Land Rover to deploy currently, a 9-speed in their products, respectively, the E-Class (RWD) and the Evoque (FWD). Also Chrysler/Jeep comes in various models (200, Cherokee) use of the ZF 9-speed that’s already in the Evoque.
Volkswagen is working on a 10-speed DSG, which is expected shortly, perhaps in the new Passat, who, in his introduction to a 240-hp 2.0 TDI. Also Hyundai is working on his own 10-stage automatic transmission, this we have long time nothing more to be heard, and Ford and GM jointly develop both 9 – and 10-bins.
8-speed
Too many to mention. In addition to the widespread use of the ZF 8-speed for cars with RWD and engine in the front was the Corvette itself as one of the lateren in the 8-trapsfeestje.
