An ordinary mortal who tries a limited, yet not even presented Porsche 911 to obtain: mission impossible.
Recently we wrote about the nice idea of Ford ceo Raj Nair to the Ford GT only to customers to sell that there is actually going to drive it. As a result of that message, we received an extensive writing of a frustrated reader. Name withheld, but for the sake of convenience we call him Henk.
Henk is a car enthusiast and has over the years well geboerd and cannot make himself a nice sports car afford. Initially, the idea was to have a Ferrari 430 Scuderia to buy, but when were there rumors about the Porsche 911R. A pure rijdersauto, perhaps the last really pure Porsche. Who wanted to Henk and when the rumors became concrete, he went on the hunt.
Henk started at Porsche Centre Eindhoven: sold out. Porsche the Netherlands: unfortunately, sir. Porsche Zentrum Dusseldorf: leider nicht. Porsche Germany: we have 418 requests, but only two specimens to forgive per dealer. Ergo: jammerdebammer. But in America a try. Carlsen Porsche in San Francisco: “I have one for myself, ordered and paid for and even that they can’t guarantee it.” Porsche San Jose? Nope.
Our Henk understands nothing, how can a car that isn’t even announced already sold? He starts a rumor that Porsche is the car only and only offered to those who already have a 918 Spyder to own. Bales for Henk, who, however, understands that such strategies are applied at the Ritz – ’s and P1’s, but this is not will fit in a 911. “That would be for any mortal with great autohart within range should be what concerns me.”
“Of course, there are already plenty of places on the production line to take over for a mild extra charge of 30% or more, but that does not fit in my wallet. In addition, I find that the ‘new car buying as an investment-behaviour ” is not further stimulated. I want him to enjoy it, ties wonderfully to the canvas to drive and sometimes even a Whopper to be able to get.”
See, then you will earn such a car. We hope with all of my heart that Porsche is still a 911R with a bow under a red cloth from the draw. If that does not happen, then it is according to @wouter a good idea to have a Cayman GTS to order and sit back to wait until the bubble bursts. Colleague @mauritsh sets a Alfa Romeo Giulia QV (better than everything!) while I choose my knaken in a young used Cayman GT4 would stop. You have good advice for our reader? The first Alfa 159 says is finished and should no longer participate.
