Toyota C-HR hybrid crossover is official

Toyota pulls the cloth of the C-HR. A hybrid crossover that many similarities with the concept car of last year.
With a few slight changes, Toyota has decided the C-HR production. In 2014 we saw the first forms of the Japanese, and in Frankfurt, we saw an almost production-ready variant. The hybrid crossover is off and now we know finally what more specs.
The C-HR will be positioned on the new TNGA platform, which stands for Toyota New Global Architecture. Toyota says that the hybrid thanks to this platform features a very low seat position’. Same words we saw this morning already passing Audi’s Q2. It is remarkable that the C-HR will also be used in racing. The model makes its debut at the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring later this year.
The five-door crossover gets a powertrain that we already know from the Prius. This means a 1.8-liter four-cylinder combined with an electric motor. Good for 122 hp. In addition to the Prius-prescription there will also be a 1.2 litre turbo with 115 hp. The latter will be available with a manual zesbak, or just like the 1.8, with a CVT automatic transmission. Who is the C-HR with a vending machine order can also opt for the optional all-wheel drive. The model state at the end of 2016 at the Dutch dealer. Prices are not yet known.
