But for the Chinese market. Someone who us this move can explain it?
Agree, the Phaeton (driving test) was not the hoped-for verkooptopper VW a fixed place in the segment of directieauto’s lap. Yet, it was everything under the hood, technically so perfect for each other. The biggest problem was the lack of status. Finally saw the appeared to be just a blown Passat with an equally large VW logo on the nose/butt.
Apparently we were with z’n all, still more Phaetons need to buy, because currently the Phideon to our pinch ferd over. The car is (once again: for the time being) only in China on the market. We dare not to say whether the car in the near future elsewhere will be sold.
The Phideon is developed in collaboration with the Chinese partner of VW, SAIC Volkswagen. He is placed in the premium segment and thus above the Passat, if it is still not clear. The car is more than five metres long with a wheelbase of nearly three metres. Enough legroom for the occupants.
It is the first car that will be based on VW’s MLB platform, and is further based on the C Coupe GTE Concept, which we then suspected that the beginning of the new Phaeton. The Phideon get gadgets such as a head-up display, night vision to warn of wegobstakels and further the gadgets that you have on a car of this class expected.
In terms of motoriseringen can choose from a 3.0 TSI 4MOTION (the topper from the range) to 300 hp and 440 Nm. Underneath is a 2.0 TSI FWD, and in the future we can count on a PHEV. The appearance? Neat, but exactly as you would expect. Check out the gallery and let know or VAG ‘m to Europe. Who knows, it helps. A video check HERE.
