Tesla hacker discovered P100D badges, is poorly treated

The fun is that your Tesla overnight changes from a fairly normal car, to a car that autonomously on the road, we already knew. But all these technological innovations also have its disadvantages. A hacker that a Tesla Model S in his possession, came here in a painful way. The man’s name is Jason Hughes (twitter) and discovered that the Tesla software a encrypted code. This led him then to the badges for a P100D model that is apparently in the pipeline. Hot news.
A 100 kWh battery pack… Ludicrous, you might say. Jason went with it to Tesla to story to pick up, which Jason still get some WTF moment experienced. Instead of a substantive response or a thank you, was Tesla simply on distance ge downgraded to an earlier software version in which the badges have not yet been processed. Thanks to his technical skills, he knew the downgrade happy, but really happy he was not, and sent a tweet to Musk.
Interestingly enough, he received a response. Elon Musk denies the downgrade ansich not, but he was in any case not the client. This thing stinks. Our Jason leaves it for the time being, as appears from a follow-up tweet and an interview on Teslarati:
“Yeah, seems I’ve gotten Musk’s attention on the matter. That’s enough of a truce for me for the time being on it to give them a chance to sort things out. Long story short, Tesla really should watch what they put into production firmware if they don’t want details about it posted. I’m not the only person with access to their car’s internals, and under no real obligation to keep anything I find secret on Tesla’s behalf. If I keep it secret, nothing is to say someone else won’t in the future.”
A P100D is also not completely crazy idea. Especially because the last year introduced P90D also renewed going to be. We wait for the install in the meantime so a bit, but if it is true what Jason is to happen, then, as he above says – a strange turn of Tesla. Continued.
