Nope, no common B-star, but just a legendary two-time Oscar winner in the role of Il Commendatore. And then you still have not heard who might be the director is going to do…
No less than De Niro himself announced to the Italian newspaper Il Messaggero that he the role of Enzo Ferrari will be playing in the film about the life of Enzo Ferrari. That in itself is good news, but Robert De Niro reports further that the pictures are all short-term will begin. That is a good thing, too, because of the postponement comes adjustment. There is since 2004 a script ready and that is, to date, never filmed. However, it is unclear whether that script, which last year again was dusted off, also forms the basis for this film.
At the time, would the film be produced by Cecchi Gori Pictures, now it seems the production is in the hands of Gianni Bozzacchi of Triworld, according to La Gazetta dello Sport. This production company has in turn signed a deal with Tribeca Film Festival, founded by no one less than Niro. Bozzacchi has big plans for the direction he wants no one less string than Clint Eastwood. That was according to the producer interested, but wanted the script to read.
The film will, however, not to the entire life of Enzo cover, but focus on the period from 1945, or the early days of Ferrari as a car maker until his death in 1988. Before the war it was Enzo Ferrari, race driver and director of the racing team of Alfa-Romeo. He also built just before the war his first car: the Auto Avio Costruzioni 815, which, due to the understand broken contract with Alfa-Romeo is still not a Ferrari if called. We are curious to see if Enzo’s adventures with his ASA 1000 ‘Ferrarina’, and the quarrel with Giotto Bizzarrini also still pass in the film.
