This lovely old gas station in Los Angeles was saved from demolition, only there is now only 0 octane served.

On the corner of Highland Ave and Willoughby was there since the years ’30 a gas station in art-deco style, but, as often happens, it disappeared in the course of the years, in decline and saw the audience, only faded glory.

A Starbucks guy saw this with dismay, and decided for a new branch of coffee chain not for the well-known 13-in-a-dozen concept, but the characteristic building in all its old grandeur to recover. Props. (via artofgears.com)
